# LP Tokens and Rewards

[Liquidity pool tokens](https://www.heliswap.io/academy-articles/what-are-lp-tokens) (LP tokens) are given to users who provide liquidity in liquidity pools. LP tokens are created to serve the liquidity providing individual as receipt, which allow them to claim their original stake and also earned interest. Many platforms (including HeliSwap) also allow for users to make use of their LP tokens to earn extra interest by providing these LP tokens towards a [yield farm](https://app.heliswap.io/farms).

LP rewards on HeliSwap are accumulated through the same mechanism as Uniswap V2 - there is a 0.3% transaction fee on every swap. These fees are put into HeliSwap’s liquidity reserves, thereby increasing the value of LP tokens and rewarding their owners.

:bulb: **LP tokens on HeliSwap adhere to the ERC-20 token standard.**

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.heliswap.io/features/lp-tokens-and-rewards.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
